CWA has created a computerised DJ-ing course.
BPM Studio is state of the art DJ software/equipment, that
it is all computer based, which means all tracks are MP3s.
BPM studio allows you to mix like any conventional DJ, mixing,
fading, sound effects, beatdrops
etc. This course would be of benefit to anyone who has little
or no experience in DJ-ing. At the end of the course you
will able to mix audio tracks together, covert CDs to MP3s,
digitally record. Loop tracks, use the mixer, fader, BPM
counter & BPM file management.

Content |
The Working Environment - This will be
a basic introduction to using the computer on the course.
This will include hardware, software and basic Windows 98
operating skills that will be needed etc.
Design & Options - In this section
we will look at the unique options that you have at your
disposal in BPM Studio. This includes the different skins
available, language facilities, file storage, audio specifications
& options.
Using The Mixer - The mixing facilities
have six audio tracks that will used, Player A, Player B,
CD Player, Sampler, Monitor & Master. All tracks will
be used and
Importing Audio - This section covers all
aspect of importing audio. We will look at different forms
of audio files (wav, aiff, cda, ) to mention a few. We will
look at the benefits and the pitfalls of the different formats.
BPM Counter - This section we will explore
Beats Per Minute the fundamental bases for mixing two tracks
together. We will look at styles of music enabling all learners
to mix tracks of all styles

| Assessment |
Each
learner will set up a computer for DJ-ing then DJ a 15 minute
set.

Will I Gain |
Each learner, after successful
completion of the course shall be awarded a BPM Studio DJ
Mixing Certificate, and also a mix cd that they would of
recorded throughout the course
